THE government assured that assistance is on its way to the areas in the Bicol Region severely affected by the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm #KristinePH in the country.
During the Malacañang press briefing this Thursday, Oct. 24, Civil Defense PH spokesperson Director Edgar Posadas shared that the government’s prepared assistance has been sent to Bicol and other affected areas in the country.
“As we speak, the aid is also arriving in Bicol. First, as I mentioned it’s coming from SOLCOM (Southern Luzon Command) which is the area command nearest—its jurisdiction covers Bicol and Region VIII, which is the nearby region from Tacloban,” the spokesperson stated.
During yesterday’s situation briefing, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. already directed the relevant agencies to send necessary equipment such as rubber boats.
PBBM also responded to the call of former Vice President Leni Robredo for additional rubber boats to assist in the rescue and relief operations being conducted in Naga City.
