A FIRE raged through a warehouse in Trece Martires City, Cavite, late Monday afternoon, destroying an estimated P2 million worth of “ukay-ukay” or used clothing. The blaze, which also damaged three vehicles, prompted a swift response from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
The incident occurred around 1:25 PM in Phase 1A, Southville II, Barangay Inocencio, at a warehouse owned by a 43-year-old businessman.
According to police reports, the fire originated in the rear section of the building. Fueled by strong winds, the flames spread rapidly, engulfing the entire structure before firefighters could bring it under control.
The intense fire also affected three vehicles parked nearby: a tricycle, a car, and a Toyota Innova. Firefighters fought the fire for more than 30 minutes until they managed to extinguish it. The BFP is currently conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire, though initial assessments suggest strong winds may have contributed to its rapid escalation.
Despite the significant financial loss, authorities find relief in the fact that the incident did not result in any injuries or casualties. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, and officials are working to ascertain the full extent of the damage and the circumstances that led to the blaze.
