SAN Fernando City, La Union — President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has signed Republic Act No. 11724 last April 29, 2022, upgrading the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC) from its present 300-bed capacity to 800-bed capacity.
Under the republic act, the funding for ITRMC’s improvement and upgrading of services shall be included in the DOH’s General Appropriation Act.
The existing workforce including doctors, nurses and support personnel shall also be increased correspondingly.
All existing professional health care services and facilities shall also be upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity.
