THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Friday, March 14, shut down a company in Mabalacat, Pampanga, accused of engaging in illegal recruitment of aircraft mechanics for jobs in the United States.
In a statement, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac announced the closure of Aerostrategies Inc., alleging that the unlicensed company had defrauded jobseekers with promises of positions in Texas offering a monthly salary of $3,344, equivalent to PHP 193,500.
The DMW investigation revealed that the recruitment agency engaged in various violations, including illegal recruitment, misrepresentation, and operating under a fraudulent business address.
The DMW has blacklisted the company’s key officials from any overseas recruitment activities. Furthermore, the DMW has recommended the cancellation of the company’s business permit in Mabalacat City and its registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
