FIVE Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu) members, a civilian and three suspected rebels were killed in an encounter in Aleosan, Cotabato.
In a report, the clash started when a member of Cafgu – on board his motorcycle — was ambushed by a group of suspected rebels.
The victim’s colleagues responded and pursued the suspects.
A gunbattle then occurred at the alleged rebels’ camp and was later settled when the authorities arrived. However, relatives denied that the three fatalities were rebels and they had nothing to do with the attack.
