MORE than 900 families were rendered homeless Sunday as fire of unknown origin ravaged two coastal villages in the area.
Cavite City Mayor Denver Chua is calling for donations for those who wish to send help, our evacuation sites are at Dalahican Elementary School and Sta. Cruz Elementary School.
The fire started about 3 p.m. along Badjao, Alonzo St. spreading to Barangays 5 and 7 and destroying more than 900 houses before it was extinguished three hours later, the Cavite police reported.
The fire affected more than 3,300 individuals, who were temporarily housed at the two public schools and attended to by local social welfare officers.
Investigators reported no casualties or serious injuries.
Firemen were still investigating the cause of the blaze. Property damage has yet to be determined by authorities.
