THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) announced the arrest of a priest in Solana, Cagayan by operatives of NBI-Cagayan Valley District Office (NBI-CAVRO).
NBI operatives identified the suspect as Father Karole Reward Israel.
Israel was arrested in an operation after the victim accompanied by her parents reported to police about the alleged abuse. The victim reported before the NBI-CAVRO that Israel has been calling her and demanding for sexual favor otherwise he will post publicly the videos he obtained during their sexual encounter.
On October 18, 2022, operatives proceeded to Solana, Cagayan where Subject and victim agreed to meet. At around 7:35pm, a Toyota pick-up arrived and fetched the victim. Operatives tailed the said vehicle until they arrived at an uninhabited rice field located at Brgy. Iraga near Iraga Elementary School and Iraga Presbyterian Church, Solana, Cagayan Valley. When the pick-up vehicle then parked in a dark area, operatives immediately approached the vehicle.
Israel opened the window at the driver’s side when police arrested him.
He was brought to NBI-CAVRO office for the standard booking procedures and was presented for inquest proceedings before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Tuguegarao for violation of Article 337 (Qualified seduction) of the Revised Penal Code, RAv 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009), and RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Law).
