A 53-year-old dance instructor was arrested by authorities in Cebu City on Tuesday for the crime of statutory rape and sexual assault, PNP Officer-in Charge Police Lieutenant General Vicente D Danao Jr announced.
Christopher Doverte Pascual listed as No. 1 Most Wanted Person in Cebu province was arrested by operating team led by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group 7 (CIDG 7) Mandaue City Field Unit together with Regional Intelligence Unit 7 (RIU 7), PNP Maritime Group 7 and Police Station 10, Cebu City Police Office (CPO) at 11:30 AM in Sitio Taytayan, Brgy. Buhisan, Cebu City.
A Warrant of Arrest was served to Pascual issued by Hon. Stephen Ian T Belacho, Presiding Judge of RTC7, Branch 22, Cebu City for the crime of Statutory Rape docketed under Criminal Case Number R-CEB-22-04078-CR, with no bail recommended and Sexual Assault docketed under Criminal Case Number R-CEB-2204079-CR, with bail recommended of P200,000.00.
“The entire police force continues its intensified campaign to put lawbreakers especially most wanted persons behind bars to strengthen its efforts to eradicate all forms of lawlessness in the country,” PLTGen Danao said.
The accused was brought to CIDG Mandaue CFU office for documentation and proper disposition.
“In support to President Marcos’ vision towards better life for Filipinos, the PNP will sustain its commitment to reduce crime, corruption and illegal drugs and we will intensify our police operations against most wanted persons especially those pose threats to peace and order in our country,” Danao further added.
