THREE suspected drug personalities will face criminal charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after being caught in possession of P480,000.00 worth of marijuana products during a checkpoint operations by Cordillera police on Monday, PNP Officer-In-Charge PLTGEN Vicente D. Danao Jr. confirmed.
In a statement, PLTGen Danao said that authorities of Police Regional Office Cordillera received an information that marijuana products will be transported from Tinglayan to Tabuk City, Kalinga that prompted the operating units of RPDEU/RSOG/RID, PRO-COR, 2nd KPFMC, PIU Kalinga, PDEU, Lubuagan MPS (lead units), RIU-14, PECU, Tinglayan MPS, Kalinga PPO, RACU, CIDG, 1st Coy PMFC and RMFB-15 to conduct checkpoint operation on June 6, 2022, 2:30 PM, in Brgy. Dinakan, Lubuagan, Kalinga.
The checkpoint operation resulted in the interception and arrest of the three drug suspects identified as Dawn Marie Martinez Agudo, 32, Hesus Sandino Onate Laygo, 27, and Andrain De Guzman Rodrigues, 33 who were on board a violet/red Chevrolet Sedan (PN: ASA 8948).
Confiscated from the suspects were four tubular forms of suspected marijuana leaves and stalks weighing more or less 4,000 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P480,000.00, one marijuana stalk weighing more or less 2.5 grams with an estimated standard drug price of Php300.00, two grinders containing suspected marijuana residue, three cellphones, one car key, one laptop with bag and the vehicle used by the suspects.
