THE 12th Infantry “Lick ‘Em” Battalion encountered more or less 20 members of the Central Front, KR-Panay, at Sitio Proper, Brgy. Manaripay, Calinog, Iloilo over the weekend.
Prompted by a tip-off from the local populace on the presence of the armed group, the operating troops of 12IB intercepted the CNTs resulting to about 10-minute firefight. Seized from the encounter site were assorted ammunitions, two M16 magazines, four backpacks, medical kits, four mobile phones, personal belongings, and subversive documents of significant intelligence value.
This incident underscores the community’s resilience against the ideological influence of the CPP-NPA Terrorists, emphasizing their commitment to supporting the government’s endeavors for peace and development by eradicating local communist armed conflicts.
The 12th Infantry Battalion stands firm in its mission to safeguard the populace and promote lasting peace and development. Additionally, it extends a call to Communist Terrorist Group members, to surrender, lay down their weapons, and embrace peace, particularly during this joyous Christmas season, fostering reunification with their families.
