PASTOR Apollo Quiboloy, leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) and currently detained on human trafficking charges, was hospitalized on Saturday, January 18, 2025, after experiencing breathing difficulties.
This was confirmed by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) on Tuesday.
According to BJMP spokesperson Jail Superintendent Jayrex Bustinera, Quiboloy was transported from the Pasig City Jail Male Dormitory to Rizal Medical Center (RMC) after being examined by the jail’s physician.
The physician attributed Quiboloy’s breathing problems to community-acquired pneumonia and recommended immediate hospitalization.
Bustinera assured the public that Quiboloy remains in BJMP custody, with stringent security measures in place during his hospital confinement.
The self-proclaimed “Son of God” is facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, along with additional charges under Republic Act 7610, the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
Quiboloy was transferred to the Pasig City Jail Male Dormitory in November 2024 following his arrest. His current hospitalization marks a significant development in his ongoing legal proceedings.
