
TWO passengers died and seven others were injured in a three-vehicle collision on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City on Sunday morning.
The accident, which occurred before 7:00 a.m. on the eastbound lane towards Fairview, involved a passenger jeepney traveling the Jordan Plains-Philcoa route, a sedan, and an e-jeep. The collision took place near Commonwealth Market, according to a report by Rod Vega on Super Radyo dzBB.
Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO) responders confirmed the deaths of the two jeepney passengers at the scene. The seven injured individuals were transported to area hospitals for treatment. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.
The driver of the jeepney is in police custody as authorities investigate the cause of the accident.
Two lanes of the eastbound Commonwealth Avenue were blocked by the damaged vehicles following the collision, causing significant traffic delays near the Sandiganbayan. The investigation is ongoing.
