PH Embassy urges Pinoys in Kuwait to exercise caution at public gatherings

admin April 4, 2025

THE Philippine Embassy in Kuwait has issued a stern warning to Filipino nationals residing in the country, urging them to refrain from participating in any unauthorized public gatherings.

The advisory, released on Thursday, emphasizes the importance of adhering to Kuwaiti laws and regulations regarding public assemblies, stressing that unauthorized gatherings can lead to legal repercussions and potential safety risks.

The embassy highlighted the need for Filipinos to prioritize their personal safety and well-being while residing in Kuwait.

The embassy’s warning comes amidst heightened security concerns and a renewed emphasis on maintaining public order in Kuwait.

While the advisory doesn’t specifically cite any recent incidents, it serves as a proactive measure to prevent Filipinos from inadvertently becoming involved in situations that could compromise their safety or legal standing.

The embassy stressed that participation in unauthorized gatherings, even if seemingly innocuous, could result in fines, detention, or deportation, depending on the circumstances.

Filipinos in Kuwait are encouraged to familiarize themselves with Kuwaiti laws regarding public assemblies and protests.

The embassy advised against attending any gathering that lacks official permits or authorization from the relevant authorities. It also urged Filipinos to exercise caution and avoid areas where large, unsanctioned crowds may be gathering.

The embassy emphasized that staying informed about local regulations and news is crucial for personal safety and security.

The embassy reiterated its commitment to assisting Filipino nationals facing legal difficulties in Kuwait. However, it stressed that prevention is always better than cure.

By adhering to Kuwaiti laws and avoiding unauthorized gatherings, Filipinos can significantly reduce their risk of encountering legal problems or compromising their safety. The embassy urged anyone with concerns or questions about Kuwaiti laws to contact the embassy directly for clarification and guidance.

The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait continues to provide consular services and assistance to its nationals. The embassy encourages Filipinos to remain vigilant and to report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate authorities immediately.

The advisory concluded with a renewed appeal for responsible behavior and adherence to local laws, emphasizing the embassy’s dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of all Filipinos residing in Kuwait.
