THE National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) issued severe weather warnings for Palawan and Albay provinces on Saturday morning.
Palawan is under a Red Rainfall Warning, the highest alert level, signifying over 30 millimeters of torrential rain per hour, expected to persist for at least two more hours.
This level of rainfall poses a significant risk of serious flooding in low-lying areas, and evacuations may be necessary.
Albay, meanwhile, received an Orange Rainfall Warning, indicating intense rainfall of 15-30 millimeters per hour, also projected to continue for the next two hours.
Residents in Albay should be prepared for potential flooding and are advised to monitor the situation closely, with evacuation a possibility.
The advisories warn of the potential for heavy rainfall, flooding, and landslides in both regions.
