THE Bureau of Customs intercepted P13.5 million worth of illegal drugs at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City on Friday.
Initially declared as canned food and fruits from Denmark, the BOC said on Saturday, the parcel was consigned to an individual in Taguig City.
PDEA field testing revealed that the package contained 5,033 pieces of ecstasy tablets and 998 grams of ketamine.
The illegal drugs were valued at P13,546,100.
The consignee will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and Section 1401 (Unlawful Importation) under the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
