THE OFW Party List, in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Sunvalley Sunrise and Halcyon Mental Health, conducted a Psychological First Aid Seminar for its staff members and leaders at the OFW Tulong at Serbisyo Center, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, Diosdado Macapagal Ave., Paranaque City.
The training, with a total of 28 participants, aims to equip the front-liners of the OFW Party List in offering psychological first aid to distressed OFWs and their family members in light of the increasing requests for assistance of OFWs with mental health needs.
OFW Party List Rep. Magsino also recently wrote DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa to put up specific programs to address the mental health needs of OFWs while abroad. She has also been pushing to strengthen the inter-agency system in the repatriation of psychologically distressed OFWs.
The OFW Party List also pushes for the inclusion of easier access by OFWs of on-site mental facilities and services in the bilateral labor agreements with host countries.
