HEADS up Filipino workers!
More than 25,000 jobs in Japan are up for grabs at a job fair at Robinsons Galleria in Quezon City on August 1.
The jobs—many in the construction, hospitality, and medical fields—are offered as part of Philippine-Japan Friendship Week.
“Yung mga makikilahok dito mga licensed recruitment agencies. Inaasahan na rin na mas madali kasi andoon na mismo sila. Hindi na kailangan pumunta sa Makati, Manila or saan man. Nandoon ang recruitment agency, nandiyan na sila at one stop shop. Mga government agencies nandoon din—PhilHealth, Pagibig,” said DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac.
Applicants have also begun to head towards the DMW headquarters to submit their applications.
According to data from DMW, Filipinos are the third largest contingent of foreign workers in Japan, with more than 300,000 documented workers in the professional and skilled category.
Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya said OFWs would be cared for in Japan.
“Japan shares the same values and we are one with the Philippines in ensuring that OFWs obtain decent work. We mandate that all foreign workers receive [the] same wages, protection and benefits as their Japanese counterparts,” he stated.
