Tabuk City, Saudi Arabia – A Filipino nurse was killed, and two others were severely injured in a hit-and-run incident in Tabuk City, Saudi Arabia, early Monday morning.
The victims, all Filipino nurses, were crossing the road in front of Tabuk Park Mall in the Muruj Al Amir District around 1 a.m. after leaving the mall when a speeding vehicle struck them.
One of the nurses was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, while the other two later regained consciousness. One of the injured nurses will be transferred to Riyadh for surgery. The Migrant Workers’ Office (MWO) in Jeddah has informed the families of the victims and is providing assistance.
The family of the deceased victim is calling for justice and the expedited repatriation of their relative’s remains. A family member told GMA News Online that they are coordinating with government agencies but noted that the repatriation process seems lengthy, adding to their burden during this difficult time. The MWO and OWWA (Overseas Workers Welfare Administration) are monitoring the case and have pledged to assist in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
