THE Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong has confirmed that one Filipino national died in the recent deadly fire in Tai Po.
In an update released Saturday night, the Consulate stated that 70 Filipino nationals have been accounted for and are safe. One Filipino was injured, and the status of 12 others remains under verification.
“The Consulate General of the Philippines in Hong Kong is presently continuing its on-the-ground operations to check the welfare of and assist overseas Filipino workers affected by the Tai Po fire incident,” the statement read. “Sadly, one Filipino has been confirmed to have lost her life due to the tragic disaster.”
The Consulate is providing assistance to the affected OFWs and their families.
