IN honor of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) as modern-day heroes and in recognition of the unwavering commitment of the OFW Party List to improve the lives of migrant workers, the OFW Party List and Duty Free Philippines Corporation (DFPC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide exclusive discounts to OFW Party List members.
Under their partnership, card-bearing OFW Party List members will receive up to 15% discount on all regular items when they shop at Duty Free Fiestamall in Paranaque City. This discount is applicable within fifteen days upon arrival from a foreign country and extends to thirty days upon arrival during the period from November 15 to January 15.
OFW Party List Representative Marissa ‘Del Mar’ Magsino emphasized that these discounts are exclusive to OFW Party List members. Addressing the members present during the MoU signing, Magsino said, “Yung mga pasalubong ninyo sa pagbalik-Pinas, dito niyo na bilhin sa Duty Free dahil may 15% discount kayo. Sa panahon ngayon, wais na dapat sa paggastos. Dito sa Duty Free ang mga produkto ay quality na at binebenta pang may diskwento para sa inyo dahil miyembro kayo ng OFW Party List.”
Magsino expressed gratitude to DFPC for acknowledging the efforts of the party list to support OFWs, the modern-day heroes of our time.
In addition to discounts at Duty Free Fiestamall, OFW Party List members can also avail discounts at partner hotels and establishments including Kingsford Hotel, Holiday Inn Express Manila, Makati Diamond Residences, and I-Secure Networks and Business Solutions, Inc.
Magsino also hinted at future discounts at other DFPC partner establishments for OFW Party List members.
She highlighted that while regular travelers receive a 5% discount for two days of shopping at duty-free establishments, the exclusive 15% discount is a special recognition of the party list’s advocacy.
DFPC Chief Operating Officer Vicente Angala stated that DFPC wants to show the government’s gratitude for the contributions of OFWs and the commitment of the OFW Party List to support our migrant workers. Apart from discounts, DFPC is also offering the OFW Party List its Fiestamall atrium as a venue for their activities.
