THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Cacdac led a crackdown on illegal recruitment activities on Friday, August 1, 2025, culminating in the closure of Visa to America Manila Inc. in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
The operation, which simultaneously shut down branches in Cebu, Quezon province, Iloilo, Isabela, Davao, and Zamboanga, targeted the company for allegedly recruiting Filipino workers for jobs abroad without the necessary licenses.
The DMW alleges that Visa to America Manila Inc. enticed applicants with promises of high salaries, ranging from USD40,000 to USD100,000, for teaching and hospitality positions in the United States.
The closure of Visa to America Manila Inc. underscores the DMW’s commitment to protecting Filipino workers from exploitative practices.
The agency warned the public against engaging with unlicensed recruitment agencies and urged anyone who has been victimized by illegal recruitment to come forward and report the incident. The DMW emphasized that it will continue its efforts to combat illegal recruitment and ensure that Filipino workers seeking employment abroad are protected from fraud and abuse.
Further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of Visa to America Manila Inc.’s illegal activities and to hold those responsible accountable.
