Youth Lead the Way in PH Agriculture: ‘Binhi ng Pag-asa’ program inspires hope

admin December 9, 2024

BRIAN Poe Llamanzares, first nominee of the FPJ Panday Bayanihan partylist, has praised the youth participants of the ‘Binhi ng Pag-asa’ program, recognizing their vital role in advancing Philippine agriculture. The program, a joint initiative of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) of the Department of Agriculture and the Office of Senator Grace Poe (OSGP), equips young Filipinos with the knowledge, skills, and values needed for success in agribusiness.

The ‘Binhi ng Pag-asa’ program fosters leadership and entrepreneurial skills among young people, preparing them to become future leaders in the agricultural sector. Participants gain valuable knowledge and skills in modern farming techniques, contributing to increased productivity and sustainability in agriculture.

The program’s success is evident in the emergence of young individuals who are actively enriching the agricultural sector with their knowledge and passion. The program’s second phase, “Sibol ng Pag-asa,” provides financial assistance and essential tools to empower farmers and promote sustainable growth.

“We are seeing a new generation of agricultural leaders emerge from this program,” said Llamanzares. “They are not only passionate about farming, but they are also equipped with the skills and knowledge to make a real difference.”

The ‘Binhi ng Pag-asa’ program emphasizes the importance of youth involvement in nation-building, particularly in vital sectors like agriculture, which shape the future of the Philippines.

“This program is a testament to the power of investing in young people and empowering them to lead the way towards a brighter future for the agricultural sector,” added Llamanzares.

The program’s recent culmination event, the 5th National Summit, Year-End Assessment for Binhi ng Pag-asa Program, held at the Swiss BelHotel Blulane in Binondo from November 27 to 29, 2024, saw the participation of about 52 youth beneficiaries from Tarlac, Laguna, and Oriental Mindoro.
