Yamsuan takes oath as new Bicol Saro Partylist solon

admin February 22, 2023

OATH OF OFFICE --- Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez administers the oath of office to Bicol Saro Partylist Rep. Brian Raymund Yamsuan in the plenary hall of the House of Representatives Wednesday afternoon.

BRIAN Yamsuan of Bicol Saro partylist took his oath before House Speaker Martin Romualdez, a day after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced that it had issued a certificate of proclamation as Bicol Saro’s first nominee.

The certification came after a letter from the House stated that former congressman Nicolas Enciso VIII had been removed from the party-list.

Apart from Yamsuan, the Comelec also named Lara Maria Villafuerte as the second nominee, Jocelyn Faustino Fortuno as the third nominee, Arron James Pagaduan as the fourth nominee, and Mac Arthur Cuison Samson Jr. as the fifth nominee.

Yamsuan previously served as House deputy secretary general under then Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano in the 18th Congress and is also the current secretary general of the National Unity Party (NUP).

A statement from the Bicol Saro party-list issued on Wednesday said that Yamsuan started his career in the office of the late Senator Edgardo Angara as a media and political affairs officer and further honed his skills as the chief of staff and head of the Media Relations and Accreditation Division in the Office of the Press Secretary under the late Rod Reyes and the late Ricardo “Dong” Puno during the administration of President Joseph Estrada, and later as chief of staff in the office of the late Senator Tessie Aquino Oreta.

Yamsuan was also the deputy media director during the late Fernando Poe Jr.’s presidential bid in 2004.

In 2006, Yamsuan was appointed assistant secretary for public affairs of the Department of the Interior and Local Government and served as a consultant in the Office of the Executive Secretary during the administration of the late president Benigno Aquino III.
