VICE President Sara Duterte has confirmed she will attend the Department of Justice (DOJ) preliminary investigation into a complaint filed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regarding her alleged “kill remark” against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Duterte confirmed her attendance after receiving a summons from the Office of the Prosecutor. She stated that her counter-affidavit is complete and she will appear at the scheduled investigation on May 9 and 16.
The NBI filed the complaint following allegations that Duterte ordered the killing of President Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez should a supposed plot against her succeed.
Duterte denies the statement was a threat, claiming it was taken out of context, and maintains her stance on her original remarks.
