VETERAN journalist Jay Ruiz was sworn in on Monday as the new secretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO). President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. personally administered the oath of office.
In a statement to Palace reporters, Ruiz pledged to combat disinformation and effectively communicate the Marcos administration’s projects to the public.
He succeeds Cesar Chavez, who resigned from the position earlier, citing his feeling that he had not met expectations. Chavez submitted his irrevocable resignation to President Marcos Jr. on February 5, 2025.
