BASED on the latest voter preference surveys, majority of Filipino voters are more inclined to support incumbent party-list, based on mock polls conducted by the University of the Philippines OCTA Research group and Social Weather Stations (SWS).
The OCTA poll, conducted from November 10 to 16, found the United Senior Citizens (USC) party-list led by the group’s first nominee and incumbent representative Milagros ‘Mila’ Aquino-Magsaysay at fourth place with 4.69 percent rating in the Top 8 list of both surveys.
Topping the list was the Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) which registered 13.38 percent among respondents who favored the group led by House Deputy Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo.
In 2022, ACT-CIS had topped the party-list race, sending three representatives in the present Congress. As first nominee, Tulfo now leads in the upcoming 2025 senatorial derby.
Following ACT-CIS in the OCTA poll were Tingog at 6.6 percent and Ako Bicol (5.34 percent). In fifth place after USC were Uswag Ilonggo (4.57 percent), 4Ps (3.43 percent), TUPAD (2.34 percent) and Akbayan (2.23 percent).
Except for TUPAD, all frontrunners have current representatives in Congress.
Meanwhile, in the commissioned SWS survey conducted from December 12 to 28, United Senior Citizens was listed at third place with a 4.62 percent rating. Topping the list was 4Ps with 13.51 percent and ACT-CIS at far second with 5.63 percent.
Following USC in fourth to eightth place were Duterte Youth (4.14 percent), Ako Bicol (3.56 percent), Tingog (2.86 percent), Talino at Galing ng Pinoy or TGP (2.48 percent) and Uswag Iloilo (2.2 percent).
