TINIYAK ni House Deputy Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo na walang pag-udyok mula sa liderato ng Kamara na mamilit ng pumirma o mag-alok ng insentibo para isulong ang people’s initiative upang amyendahan ang Konstitusyon.
Itinanggi rin ni Tulfo, kinatawan ng ACT-CIS partylist na laganap ang pagbili ng pirma sa Davao City base sa alegasyon ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
“There is no instruction from the higher ups to offer (money), as far as I know… Maybe it as an initiative of an individual or an official. I, myself, won’t allow that,” sabi ni Tulfo.
Ayon pa kay Tulfo, bago pa man ang 19th Congress, nagkasundo na umano sa Kamara na amyendahan ang ilang probisyon sa Konstitusyon ngunit hindi ito naisulong.
Gayunman, bago ang Christmas break noong nakaraang taon, napagkasunduan ng miyembro ng Kamara na isulong na ito matapos makitang dumarami ang panukala sa Charter Change.
“It was brought up, but never was it mentioned to force (promote it) by hook or by crook, and there were rumors that it would be a gift to the President (Marcos) for his SONA (State of the Nation Address) this year – there’s nothing like that. It was just discussed,” ayon pa sa mambabatas.
Sinabi pa ni Tulfo na hindi na nakikialam ang Kamara sa kampanya ng people’s initiative lalo pa at magbubukas na ang sesyon sa Lunes.
“So, the ball is now with the Senate, not with Congress (House)… This coming Monday, we will pass many legislations, there are priority bills of the Marcos administration, so we will be focusing on them,” ayon pa sa mambabatas.
