NAVOTAS Representative Toby Tiangco is calling on the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to urgently dispatch a high-level delegation to the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) Headquarters in Lyon, France, to follow up on its request for a red notice for former Ako Bicol Rep. Elizaldy “Zaldy” Co.
Tiangco expressed concern over the lack of response from Interpol regarding the red notice request, which was submitted by the NBI on November 23, 2025. He emphasized that the usual processing time for such requests is only three to four weeks.
Tiangco stressed the urgency of the situation, stating that the NBI should exhaust all avenues to bring Zaldy Co back to the country. He warned that without a red notice, Co remains free to move and plan his evasion of the charges filed against him. A red notice would greatly assist in restricting Co’s movements and tracking his whereabouts.
Co is facing charges of corruption and malversation of public funds in relation to an alleged P289.5-million anomalous road dike project in Oriental Mindoro. He is also facing plunder charges filed by the NBI. Recent reports indicate that Co signed his Supreme Court petition before a notary public in Nacka, Stockholm, Sweden, on January 15.
