HOUSE Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos on Wednesday dismissed rumors of a coup in the House of Representatives, saying lawmakers remain solidly united behind Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III.
“I don’t know of any coup in Congress at any point in time,” Marcos said in an ambush interview, when asked about the rumor.
The Ilocos Norte lawmaker said there is no basis for talk of a leadership shakeup, noting that Dy continues to enjoy broad support within the chamber.
“As far as I’m concerned, everyone is confident and happy with the leadership of Speaker Bojie,” Marcos said.
According to the House leader, Dy has provided steady and purposeful leadership as the House focuses on internal reforms and institutional credibility.
“He has been steering the House through his own quiet brand of leadership, which is what I think the House needs now, and instituting the reforms that the House requires to show to the Filipino people,” he said.
The remarks come as the House advances reform measures and internal restructuring to strengthen transparency, discipline, and public trust—an agenda that has defined Dy’s speakership since he assumed office.
