IN a show of unity across major political centers of the country, a combined 97 lawmakers from Metro Manila and Mindanao have declared their full and unwavering support for Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III, hailing his leadership as essential to restoring integrity, stability, and public trust in the House of Representatives.
The Metro Manila representatives, comprising 30 out of 33 district lawmakers, and the 67-member Mindanao bloc led by Senior Deputy Speaker Ferdinand L. Hernandez, issued separate but complementary statements underscoring Speaker Dy’s principled leadership, calm approach to governance, and bold push for reforms.
Together, the two regions — representing the nation’s political capital and its second-largest island — delivered their strongest collective endorsement yet for the Speaker.
Earlier, the 39-strong Northern Luzon Alliance issued a manifesto declaring its “unequivocal support” for Dy, citing his leadership, character, and steady hand in guiding the House.
House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos III of Ilocos Norte, along with Deputy Speakers Kristine Singson-Meehan of Ilocos Sur and Francisco Paolo Ortega V of La Union, led the signatories from the alliance, which is composed of lawmakers from Regions I and II and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
Soon after, 44 members of the Party-list Coalition Foundation Inc. reaffirmed their support for Dy amid rumors of a leadership change and praised his efforts to maintain stability, promote dialogue, and ease tensions within the House during a period of political uncertainty.
In a letter dated Nov. 24, 2025, the Metro Manila bloc said Speaker Dy steadied the House “during a particularly tumultuous time, where public perception against the government was badly affected by the serious flood control corruption issues.”
“Despite this significant challenge, your calmness, sincerity, and principled approach have been a unifying force within the chamber,” they told Dy.
The lawmakers fully backed Dy’s push to create the Independent Commission Against Infrastructure Corruption, calling it “precisely what transparency and accountability calls for.”
“Like you, we believe that the measure’s swift passage is essential to upholding our institution’s commitment to a zero tolerance policy for corruption, especially in public works,” they added.
They also praised Dy’s stand on the Anti-Dynasty Bill, noting that his willingness to pursue it “even if it may affect your own family” sends a “powerful wake-up call to the members of Congress.”
“The time is now ripe for Congress to initiate a comprehensive discussion to define political dynasties while prudently balancing every person’s right to seek public office and preserving the fundamental right of the people to choose their leaders. We believe this balance is essential,” the lawmakers said.
They further commended Dy for “successfully shepherding the timely and transparent passage” of the 2026 General Appropriations Bill, saying its focus on health, education, and agriculture strengthens inclusive and sustainable development.
Declaring that “going back to the past is not an option,” the 30 district representatives pledged full support for Dy’s reform mission to win back the public’s trust through “game-changing legislations and unwavering call for transparency.”
In a separate manifesto, 67 lawmakers from Mindanao declared their “firm, united and unwavering support” for Dy.
The lawmakers said Mindanao has long stood “at the crossroads of development, peace, and nation-building,” and emphasized that in a time of “political divisions, economic uncertainty, and declining public trust in institutions,” the House must be led by a Speaker whose “leadership is grounded in stability, continuity, and the rule of law.”
“For these reasons, we affirm our strong support for Speaker Dy,” they said.
The Mindanao bloc noted that they have witnessed Dy’s “steady, respectful, and institution-centered approach to governance,” adding that his “calm but firm leadership style fosters dialogue, reduces tensions, and ensures that even during periods of political strain, the House remains focused on its constitutional mandate to serve the Filipino people.”
They also cited Dy’s commitment to institutional integrity. “We recognize Speaker Dy’s commitment to: strengthening the rule of law, upholding institutional integrity, and ensuring that the House is guided by fairness, transparency, and accountability,” they said.
Dy’s leadership, they added, brings “the stability and predictability needed to deliver reforms, defend democratic processes, and protect the national interest.”
The lawmakers stressed that at a time when public confidence in government is still being rebuilt, Dy has emphasized “responsible stewardship, ethical legislative conduct, and strict adherence to the Constitution.”

They underscored the need to maintain steady leadership to sustain the administration’s governance priorities.
“As representatives from Mindanao — an island that deeply understands the value of peace, stability, and credible governance — we stand behind Speaker Dy because he embodies the leadership required to move our nation toward a stronger, more transparent, and more accountable government.”
