Speaker, DICT meet on House blockchain adoption

SPEAKER Faustino “Bojie” Dy III on Wednesday met with Undersecretary David Almirol and other officials and staff from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to finalize details for the launch of the Congress blockchain.

The planned launch is part of Speaker Dy’s efforts to make work at the House of Representatives more transparent, accessible, and accountable to the public.

“Wala tayong itinatago, wala tayong pinagtatakpan, at bukas tayo sa pagsusuri ng sambayanan,” the Speaker said earlier this year.

The adoption of blockchain technology is envisioned to enable the public to access, monitor and examine the evolution of congressional documents, particularly the budget, in a more secure manner.
