SENATOR Grace Poe assured that the Senate will ensure next year’s national budget aligns with the country’s collective priorities and addresses the diverse needs of Filipinos.
Poe made this commitment as she presided over the Committee on Finance briefing on the proposed 2025 National Expenditure Program prepared by the Development Budget Coordination Committee. For 2025, the Marcos administration is proposing a record budget of P6.35 trillion to finance its priority programs and achieve its macroeconomic targets.
“Through the power of the purse, we guarantee transparency, accountability, and prudent resource management. It is our responsibility to shape a budget that translates to meaningful advancement for all,” Poe said on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
