admin April 4, 2024

THE Office of the Court Administrator, under Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo has authorized judges and personnel to implement flexible work arrangement amid sweltering summer temperatures.

Outlined in OCA Circular No. 93-2024, signed by Court Administrator Raul B. Villanueva, operational hours for court proceedings from April 5, 2024, to May 31, 2024, are set from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This measure aims to mitigate health risks associated with the extreme heat and weather conditions.

During this timeframe, Saturday duty hours are adjusted to 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, in accordance with the guidelines outlined in OCA Circular No. 102-2022 dated May 10, 2022.

Furthermore, Executive Judges are tasked with addressing bail petitions and other urgent matters on Saturday afternoon post-12 noon, as well as on Sundays, official holidays, and special days, under exceptional circumstances.

“Per the authority granted by the Honorable Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo, taking into account the dangerous heat indices experienced in
recent days as reported by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (pAGASA), which may be expected to persist for some time, all trial judges and court personnel is allowed to observe a flexible work arrangement, ” the circular read.
