IN a stunning development, the Sandiganbayan Special Third Division has acquitted former Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, his former chief of staff Gigi Reyes, and detained businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles of plunder in connection with the multi-billion peso pork barrel fund scam.
The court ruled in favor of the accused, citing “failure of the prosecution to prove their guilt beyond reasonable doubt.” Associate Justice Ronald B. Moreno penned the decision.
