Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Chief Louie Puracan shows to Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez the five units of 1000-Gallon Fire Trucks intended for various municipalities in the country during the turnover ceremony Monday afternoon at BFP Headquarters in Agham Road Quezon City. Romualdez was the guest of honor and speaker during the event.
SPEAKER Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez highlighted on Monday the importance of fire trucks in communities as well as the critical role firemen play, as he commended their life-saving mission not just to put out fires, but also to prevent them – most importantly.
“Their presence within our communities provides reassurance and peace of mind, knowing that in times of distress, there are brave souls ready to respond with unwavering determination,” Romualdez said.
“Let us remember that the flame of hope is kept alive by the bravery and selflessness of our firefighters and first responders,” the Speaker said on the occasion of the turnover of five (5) units of 1000-gallon fire trucks.
Romualdez was the guest of honor and speaker at the turnover ceremony held at the headquarters of the Bureau of Fire Protection in Quezon City.
“This occasion serves as a testament to our unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our communities, as well as a celebration of the invaluable role our firefighters play as pillars of nation-building,” he said.
The Speaker pointed out that fire trucks are “not mere vehicles” because they “represent our collective dedication to equipping our local governments and their respective firefighters with the necessary resources to carry out their crucial duties.”
In the same breadth, “firefighters are more than individuals in uniforms.” “They serve as beacons of hope, guardians of life, and protectors of property,” Romualdez – the leader of the House of Representatives – stressed.
“Let us work hand in hand to strengthen our emergency response systems, promote fire safety education, and enhance collaboration between local government units and the Bureau of Fire Protection,” he said.
As far as he is concerned, the BFP – which is under the supervision of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) – “serve as symbols of our recognition of the vital role firefighters and local officials play in upholding the safety and security of our nation.”
“To the BFP, I extend my deepest gratitude for your unwavering commitment and service. You are the embodiment of heroism and compassion, and your sacrifices do not go unnoticed,” the Speaker assured.
“Together, we can build safer, more resilient communities. By investing in our firefighters and the resources they require, we invest in the future of our nation,” Romualdez, who represents the First District of Leyte province, said.
“Their unwavering dedication and courage serve as an inspiration to all, reminding us that through unity and a shared sense of purpose, we can overcome any challenge,” the House leader added.
“May these fire trucks further empower our firefighters and enable them to carry out their duties with enhanced efficiency and effectiveness. Together, let us build a nation where the safety and well-being of our communities are paramount,” he concluded.
