AKO Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co has issued a statement denying any involvement in wrongdoing related to flood control projects, following public comments made by Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
Co expressed surprise at Magalong’s mention of his name in connection with the projects, noting the lack of specific details regarding the alleged actions.
Co stated that he reserves the right to respond to any statements concerning his involvement before the appropriate body, provided he is given specific details of the claims against him.
He emphasized his strong denial of any wrongdoing related to Magalong’s “vague claim”.
Furthermore, Co expressed concerns about the impartiality of a planned independent body tasked with investigating the flood control projects, particularly if Mayor Magalong is included as a member.
He argued that Magalong’s public statements, made before the investigation has even begun, suggest a pre-existing bias based on “rumors and hearsay,” undermining confidence in the fairness of the process.
