Rep. Suan denounces fake impeachment statement on social media

admin February 6, 2025

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Congressman Lordan G. Suan (1st District, Cagayan de Oro City) has issued a statement denouncing a false online post attributed to him regarding his vote on the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.

The statement, appearing on a fake Facebook page called “The Working Congressman,” claimed Congressman Suan made comments against the Vice President and the House of Representatives. Congressman Suan categorically denied making these statements, calling them “fake news” and “black propaganda.”

“Yes, I voted “yes” to the impeachment. I voted for accountability, and not against any individual. My vote was not a personal attack against VP Sara.

I am a public servant and my loyalty will always lie with you: the people of the 1st District of Cagayan de Oro City. I have spent my time, my energy, and my spirit fighting for you, pushing for real change, for social services that lift us up, for infrastructure projects that build a brighter future, for laws that protect and improve the lives of every Filipino,” he said.

While confirming his “yes” vote on the impeachment, Congressman Suan emphasized that his decision was based on a commitment to accountability and not a personal attack against Vice President Duterte.

He reaffirmed his dedication to serving the people of Cagayan de Oro’s 1st District, highlighting his work on social services, infrastructure projects, and legislation. He vowed to continue his work regardless of online attacks.
