REPRESENTATIVE Elijah “Eli” San Fernando of Kamanggagawa Partylist issued an official statement today, emphasizing that the recent change in leadership in the House of Representatives is a result of the persistent demands for accountability from workers and ordinary Filipinos.
However, he stressed that this is only the first step in achieving true accountability.
San Fernando stated that those pursuing genuine accountability will not be satisfied with a mere change in leadership and that the public is watching closely to ensure that all those involved are blacklisted, dismissed, and imprisoned.
He asserted that the people are demanding justice and will not be easily pacified, given the blatant and widespread corruption within the government.
San Fernando urged workers and ordinary Filipinos not to tire of speaking out and fighting for what is right. He called for the righteous anger of the people to be heard and represented in all chambers of government.
While welcoming House Speaker Dy’s promise to change the House and not shield the corrupt, San Fernando expressed hope that this commitment is not mere rhetoric and will be translated into concrete action for the good of the people.
