PRESIDENTIAL aspirant Norberto Gonzales today urged Filipino voters to reject candidates, who have indicated a heavy tilt to favor China in its bilateral relations with the Philippines.
Candidates who keep on fawning to China for whatever reasons could be aptly called traitors, Gonzales, who served as Defense Secretary and national security adviser before, aid in a statement.
He is running under the Partido Sosyal-Demokratiko ng Pilipinas (PDSP).
“We only have one country and that is the Philippines. Anybody who kowtows to China in exchange for whatever favor it brandishes and offers is not a Filipino,” Gonzales said.
“Our loyalty is first to the Philippines,” added Gonzales. “There are candidates who are clearly Filipino and voters should have the liberty to choose whom to vote among them. But definitely not those who are pro-China,” he further averred.
“They are despicable characters, who are no different from the Makapilis during the Japanese occupation in the last war.”
