Poll workers get P2,000 pay boost for May 12 elections

admin May 10, 2025

TEACHERS and other poll workers who served in the May 12 national and local elections will receive a significant pay increase, thanks to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s approval of a P2,000 across-the-board adjustment.

This means chairpersons of electoral boards will now receive P12,000 (up from P10,000), poll clerks and third members will receive P11,000 (up from P9,000), and support staff will receive P8,000 (up from P6,000).

Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman stated that the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has secured the necessary funding.

Pangandaman emphasized the crucial role poll workers play in ensuring fair and credible elections, highlighting the considerable effort and sacrifice involved. “We know that in guarding our votes, our teachers and poll workers endure fatigue, sleeplessness, and sacrifice,” Pangandaman said.

The pay increase is seen as a well-deserved recognition of their dedication and commitment to the electoral process.
