THE House Quad committee’s investigation into Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) is set to be concluded. This is one of three issues that the committee has investigated over the past five months.
Quad Comm lead chairman Robert Ace Barbers confirmed this regarding the issue involving Chinese nationals who posed as Filipinos, allegedly leading to various crimes in the country.
“We have already discussed a lot about the POGO issue. We are finalizing our termination and committee report on this subject,” Barbers said in an interview yesterday.
According to the lawmaker, they have already filed bills against a total ban on POGO to ensure that they will not return when the administration changes in 2028.
In addition, the proposed bill aims to tighten the law regarding late registration and the confiscation of assets such as land purchased by Chinese nationals involved in POGO and illegal drug trades.
