POGO funded: P60k per head paid for those killed in ‘Oplan Tokhang,’ says solon

POLICE are being paid between P20,000 and P60,000 for each drug-related killing.

This was revealed by House committee on human rights chairman and Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante Jr. at a press conference today, which is why the number of deaths has reached almost 30,000, including 7,000 killed in police operations.

This comes after it was discovered that the money allegedly used to pay the police who kill Filipinos accused of involvement in illegal drugs during the war on drugs under former president Rodrigo Duterte came from Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).

The Quad-Com is composed of the House committee on dangerous drugs, committee on public order and safety, committee on public accounts, and committee on human rights because the country’s security is allegedly at risk due to this syndicate of Chinese nationals, some Filipinos who are elected or appointed officials, although they were not named. According to Abante, it has been established in his investigation of extrajudicial killings that the police are paid between P20,000 and P60,000 for each killing, which could be the reason why.

“The exchange of money, the money comes from POGO from gambling that is being paid to our police,” Abante said when asked why his committee is part of the Quad-committee.

On August 15, the Quad-Com will begin their formal investigation where Abante said they will summon Duterte and Senator Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa.

“We have invited him (Duterte) again, the thing is even the other committee would want to invite the former president,” said Barbers, and even Dela Rosa, not as a senator but as the former head of the Philippine National Police (PNP) who started Oplan Tokhang.

Duterte and Dela Rosa are required to answer the reward money given to police officers who kill those involved in illegal drugs.

Abang Lingkod party list Rep. Caraps Paduano also said that one of the reasons why his Committee on public accounts is included is because there are elected and appointed officials in the government who are involved in this large syndicate of illegal POGOs that are also allegedly connected to the drug syndicate.
