PhilHealth to cover all outpatient emergency cases starting February 14

admin February 20, 2025

THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) announced that starting February 14, 2025, it will cover all outpatient emergency cases in accredited level 1 to level 3 hospitals nationwide under its Facility-Based Emergency (FBE) benefit.

PhilHealth clarified that hospitals do not need to obtain separate accreditation for FBE benefits as it is already included in their current accreditation. However, those with extension facilities must submit a certification to their PhilHealth Regional Office indicating the name and address of their related facility.

PhilHealth is also expected to announce coverage for ambulance services under its pre-hospital emergency benefit.

The outpatient emergency care benefit, part of PhilHealth’s expanded benefits for this year, covers emergency services, including emergency care at hospitals and emergency transport for cases that do not require hospitalization.
