Metrosundaily July 6, 2023

THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) signed a memorandum of agreement ( MOA ) for Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, on Wednesday.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar said the PCG is the first among the country’s uniformed services under 4PH, which aligns with President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr’s directive to include men and women in uniform among its priorities.

On behalf of PCG Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio Abu, PCG OIC, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr, recognized the partnership as a huge boost to Coast Guardians’ morale and welfare.

“We believe that our dedicated men and women who serve in the PCG deserve these benefits as they diligently carry out their duties to protect our nation’s maritime interests and keep our coastal communities safe,” CG Vice Admiral Punzalan expressed.

“By extending housing benefits to our personnel, we aim to enhance their commitment and improve their overall quality of life,” he furthered.

PCG Deputy Commandant for Administration, CG Vice Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan; Coast Guard District National Capital Region-Central Luzon Commander, CG Rear Admiral Hostillo Arturo Cornelio; DHSUD Assistant Secretary for Regional Operation Daryll Bryan Villanueva; and DHSUD Assistant Secretary Loise Canson also witnessed the MOA signing ceremony.
