PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is set to sign into law this week the PhP5.76-trillion 2024 national budget, according to Speaker Martin Romualdez.
“It’s ready for [signing], I think, [on] Wednesday. Wednesday na ata ‘yung signing po,” Romualdez told reporters in Tokyo on Monday.
Romualdez made the remarks when asked when President Marcos will sign the national budget.
He added that President Marcos wanted to sign the national budget into law before leaving for Japan.
Romualdez, however, clarified that there are still some printing requirements needed before the President can sign the national outlay document. President Marcos is set to return to Manila from Japan on Monday after his successful participation in the 50th Commemorative of the ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation Summit.
