PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. revealed on Monday that his administration is conducting a performance review of his Cabinet members.
Speaking during the premiere episode of his “BBM Podcast,” the President indicated that potential changes within his Cabinet are possible based on the results of the ongoing evaluation.
President Marcos stated that the review is part of an ongoing effort to assess government performance and address issues of inefficiency and corruption, particularly as his administration enters its second half.
While acknowledging the generally positive progress, he emphasized the importance of the performance review. “We’re looking at why things are slow, why the service is poor,” he explained. “What can we do to speed things up? That’s important.”
When asked about the possibility of Cabinet officials being dismissed, the President confirmed that the review process could lead to dismissals or legal action depending on the findings.
“That might happen,” he said. “This performance review is a warning to them.”
President Marcos also defended his approach to dealing with corrupt officials, stating that he has already dismissed several without hesitation.
“In the past two or three years, if we receive a validated report, they’re dismissed,” he said. “We don’t always announce it, but they’re dismissed, usually.” The President’s announcement signals a potential period of change within his administration as he seeks to improve efficiency and address concerns about corruption.
