Pamamahagi ng fuel subsidy sinuspinde ng LTFRB

PANSAMANTALANG itinigil ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang alokasyon sa fuel subsidy sa public utility vehicle (PUV) driver at operator dahil sa election public spending ban.

Sa panayam, sinabi ni LTFRB executive director Maria Kristina Cassion na nasa 110,200 PUV beneficiaries ang nakatanggap na ng subsidy hanggang March 29.

Mayroon pang 22,000 taxi at UV Express beneficiaries ang sumasailalim sa balidasyon ng mga dokumento.

Nakatakda naman magsagawa ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ng pagbibigay ng subsidiya sa may 27,000 delivery services.

Para sa mga tricycle drivers, sinabi ng LTFRB na hinihintay pa rin ang listahan ng beneficiaries mula sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Gayunman, ang pamimigay ng subsidy para sa PUV drivers at operators ay pansamantalang sinuspinde mula March 25 hanggang May 8, 2022.

Sa ilalim ng Comelec’s Resolution No. 10747, kailangang magkaroon pa ng certificate of exemption sa mga aktibidad at programa ng social welfare projects at services sa gitna ng ban dahil sa nalalapit na eleksiyon.

“Before the ban, nagkaroon tayo ng application sa Comelec for exemption at nagkaron na po tayo ng hearing [we applied for exemption from Comelec and we had a hearing]. Right now, we are just waiting for the result of our application for exemption sa ban so we can continue distribution,” sabi ni Cassion.

Habang hinihintay umano ang desisyon, sinabi ng LTFRB executive na magpapatuloy naman ang pagbibigay ng 86,000 Pantawid Pasada Program (PPP) para sa iba pang beneficiaries.

Nagsimula ang pamamahagi nitong Marso ng P6,500 sa mahigit 377,000 kuwalipikadong PUV drivers at operators upang makatulong sa harap ng walang humpay na pagtaas ng presyo ng produktong petrolyo.
