Over 4,600 candidates register social media accounts with Comelec ahead of 2025 elections deadline

admin December 9, 2024

WITH less than a week before the December 13, 2024 deadline, a total of 4,646 candidates for the 2025 national and local elections (NLE) have registered their official social media accounts with the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

As of December 7, 2024, the Comelec reported receiving registrations from 27 senatorial candidates, 4,500 local aspirants, and 119 party-list organizations. Additionally, 2,509 candidates have submitted hard copies of their documents to the poll body.

The Comelec has reiterated that the deadline for registering online campaign platforms, set for Friday, December 13, 2024, will not be extended. Candidates are required to complete registration within 30 calendar days after filing their certificates of candidacy or by December 13, 2024.

An election task force will review all applications before endorsing them for approval or rejection by the Commission en banc. Approved registrations will be published on the Comelec’s official website and social media pages.
