THE Bureau of Customs-Manila International Container Port (BOC-MICP) already surpassed its collection target for 2022 as of November 11, recording an actual collection of P173.6 billion, P17.1 billion more than its collection target of P156.1 billion.
Comparative collection records further show that from January 1 to November 11, the actual collection of the Port is 17.66% or Php26 billion higher than its P147.6 billion target for the period. Likewise, the cumulative actual collection this year is higher by 18.46% or P27 billion higher compared to the P146 billion actual collections from January to November 2021.
The record-breaking collection performance of the Port is attributed to the improved competence level of its hard-working and dedicated men and women coupled with the pro-active management of District Collector Arnoldo Famor and institutional leadership of Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz.
Notwithstanding BOC-MICP’s current highlighted collection performance, District Collector Famor further commits to continuously improve the Port’s collection efforts by further enhancing its value and classification verification.
The Port also commits to strengthening fraud detection capabilities through continuous learning and development programs and active inter-agency and public-private coordination with stakeholders.
These initiatives are also aligned with the BOC’s drive for ease of doing business while fulfilling its mandate of revenue collection, trade facilitation, and border protection
