President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. signed into law the Anti-Agricultural Economic Sabotage Act on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the Kalayaan Hall of Malacañang Palace.
The new law designates agricultural hoarding as economic sabotage if a person or group possesses stocks of agricultural and fishery products exceeding 30% of their normal inventory level two weeks after the declaration of an abnormal situation, emergency, or state of calamity.
